Mandy Richards
CEO & Founder

Mandy is a social entrepreneur fiercely passionate about human rights, animal welfare, eradicating poverty and empowering women. She established Global Sisters to democratise entrepreneurship in 2013 – with the goal of creating a scalable and efficient model for supporting women to create an income stream via self employment, when mainstream employment wasn’t accessible. Mandy’s diverse career path over the past 20+ years has spanned the commercial and not-for-profit sectors where she has worked internationally on government business incubation programs in Botswana and New Zealand, as well as for high profile charities including the Hamlin Fistula Hospitals in Ethiopia and locally as National Marketing Manager for the RSPCA.
Mandy established the ACT Social Enterprise Hub while working at Social Ventures Australia and was Director for Place Based Philanthropy with the Sydney Community Foundation. Following securing the highest investment on Channel 7’s Dragons Den, Mandy launched a $3.5 million startup and has commercialised an invention internationally.
Mandy has completed post graduate studies in Trade Mark Law as well as a Master of Human Rights Law at Melbourne Law School. She has also studied social entrepreneurship at INSEAD in Singapore. In 2019 she sat on a panel at APEC Chile in the Women and the Economy forum and in 2020 was a coach in the global Cartier Women’s Initiative. A country girl who spent her younger years growing up on a small farm outside Armidale, NSW before her family moved to Indonesia, Mandy now lives in Sydney.

Emily Bobis
Founder – Compass IoT

Emily is a founder of Compass IoT – a multi award-winning tech startup that utilises connected vehicles to improve road safety and city planning. She won the University of Sydney $10,000 Startup Innovation Pitch Prize in 2020, and was recently featured in the ‘Innovators vs Covid’ article series. Emily is passionate about encouraging innovation, new technology, and women in business initiatives.

Danielle Owen Whitford
Founder & CEO – Pioneera

Danielle, a former corporate executive, founded start up Pioneera in 2018 to improve our mental health by tackling the crippling issue of workplace stress and burnout. Pioneera’s AI platform combines technology with psychology to prevent workplace stress whilst promoting positive productive cultures and is gaining strong interest across both corporate Australia and small businesses.
Danielle speaks regularly on wellbeing, AI, women in technology, leadership; and preventing burnout. She is also a lecturer at Sydney University on People and Leadership.

Jill Berry
CEO and co-founder – Adatree

Jill Berry is CEO and co-founder of Adatree, an Open Banking technology platform. Adatree was the first startup in Australia to be accredited as a Data Recipient in the Consumer Data Right, a new regulated data sharing regime. They work with fintechs, banks and lenders to access and leverage banking data in real-time. In 2019, Adatree won the University of Sydney Genesis Fintech competition. Jill and her co-founder Shane Doolan have helped build two new Australian banks, Tyro and Volt.

Alana Wylie
Founder and Head Science Lover – Eye Heart Science

Alana is the Founder and Head Science Lover at Eye Heart Science – a fast growing science education business based in Sydney. Alana is passionate about all things science and inspiring children to think critically and adopt a problem solving mindset. Having completed her undergraduate degree in Medical Science and then a PhD in Immunology; Alana commenced her career within a small biomedical company, then progressing to hold senior positions within the pharmaceutical industry at Novartis and Astra Zeneca.
Outside of work, Alana volunteered her time under the Scientists in Schools program where she brought her passion for science and education to primary school students. Through this experience, Alana identified an opportunity to establish Eye Heart Science to provide engaging science workshops to schools and directly to kids. Eye Heart Science believes in challenging the status quo of education by providing bespoke programs, workshops and camps designed to prepare the next generation for a rapidly changing future. It is estimated that 75% of the jobs of the future don’t exist today. Alana loves to read; cook (and eat!); and is passionate about sustainability. She also loves spending time with her husband and 3 children.

Annabelle Chauncy OAM
CEO and Founding Director – School for Life Foundation

Annabelle is a dynamic leader and social entrepreneur who started a multi-national NGO from scratch at the age of 21, with operations in both Australia and Uganda. Over the past 10 years, through her Foundation, School for Life, she has built a team of more than 120 staff, built three schools in rural Uganda that provide quality education to 1000 students and outreach to more than 2000 people. Annabelle knows how to drive effective change in Australia and Uganda, navigating fast growth (50-100% year on year since inception), developing a national brand and engaging thousands of supporters to raise more than $8M in 5 years. Annabelle has overcome huge barriers including running two high performing businesses in different continents on exceptionally tight budgets, cultural and gender biases, shifting mindsets, driving change and innovation, engaging staff, building teams and raising capital. Annabelle is not afraid to ask for money, spending time developing targeted strategies for adopting corporate partners, garnering investment from high net worth individuals, engaging some of Australia’s best business people to help her build the business and ensuring retention of all parties through rapid growth. She has summited Mt Kilimanjaro twice, run numerous marathons and believes her farm upbringing and family has instilled a deep sense of resilience and determination into her. She now moves her business forward to focus on sustainability, driving innovative strategies to create businesses to underpin her charity’s growing operational budget, and ensure the foundation isn’t reliant solely on donations. One of the youngest recipients of the Medal of the Order of Australia at just 27 years old, she is an inspiring and energetic speaker who can relate to audiences of all backgrounds and ages. Annabelle is testament to the fact that one person can make a difference and isn’t short of courage, determination and grit to make it happen. Annabelle will inspire and enlighten your team with her story and experiences of being a young social entrepreneur and businesswoman making huge change in the developing world. Besides having a Medal of the Order of Australia, Annabelle has been recognised for her work through a range of different awards, including being named NSW Young Woman of the Year in 2015, winning the Young Alumni of the Year from Sydney University in 2016, as well as being named finalist in the Audi In Style ‘Women of Style’ Charity category. Annabelle is a Paul Harris Fellow through Rotary and was the 2014 winner of People’s Choice in the Australian Women’s Weekly and Qantas’ Women of the Future Awards. She was a finalist in two categories of the NSW Telstra Businesswomen’s Awards 2013 for Business Innovation and Young Businesswoman.
