Kickstarter Challenge expert panel revealed

The Accelerator for Enterprising Women’s Kickstarter Challenge is nearing its Grand Final and we are excited to reveal the expert judging panel who will be front row on 29 November at Parliament House. 

Their combined experience encompasses start-ups, finance, venture capital, science, technology, government, small business and pitching on the official shark tank stage.

Aami Mills, Founder of Mimi & Co and recent Shark Tank success story
Aami “Mimi” Mills started Mimi & Co as part of her mission to revolutionise baby care with a reusable modern cloth nappy. She successfully pitched her business to the ‘Sharks’ of Shark Tank Australia receiving $100,000 with a 30 per cent equity from Sharks Davie Fogarty and Jane Lu.

Caitlin Judd, Co-Founder of lady-brains
Caitlin is the co-founder of lady-brains, a platform dedicated to helping early-stage founders and their businesses grow, so they can live more fulfilling, meaningful and sustainable lives.

She also hosts the lady-brains podcast, one of Australia’s top-rated entrepreneurial podcasts, and is an angel investor.

Julian Potter, Group Country Manager for Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific at Visa
Julian is responsible for leading all aspects of Visa’s business in the region including innovation, acceptance, security, core products and solutions as well as digital delivery and deployment.

During his career, Julian has led businesses through their start-up, transformation and accelerated growth phases.

In her role as Chief Operating Officer, Phoebe is responsible for amplifying the impact of Startmate’s team and community.

Startmate accelerates the most ambitious founders, operators and investors through programs, propelled by a highly-trusted mentor-driven community, and backed by the best angels, venture funds and tech startups in the region.

Vicki Stirling, CEO of The Startup Network
Throughout her career, Vicki has been involved in startups from early stage ideation, to IPO. In her work with The Startup Network, she helps equip founders with the tools they need to navigate founder life and to connect them to a supportive community both nationally and internationally.

On Wednesday, 29 November 2023, the five Kickstarter Challenge finalists, will pitch their business ideas to the judges at Parliament House in Canberra. The panel will determine the winner, who will walk away with $30,000 in equity-free funding and each runner up will receive $7,500 to put towards their businesses. This generous prize is supported by our partners, Visa, who are also offering each finalist mentoring sessions with experts across a range of business and entrepreneurship fields.
