Who we are
Did you know…
Only 8% of Australian start-ups are female-led.
In Australia only 17% of people working in STEM-skilled professions are women.
Women only make up 21% of tertiary graduates with a STEM-related degree.
Women earn less than their male counterparts in science, IT and engineering.
We’re on a Mission to change that
The Accelerator for Enterprising Women brings together the collective might of an industry alliance on a mission to accelerate change in women’s lives! The four key program offerings are aimed at empowering and supporting young female entrepreneurs and job makers to achieve success and have a positive impact on their futures.
Throughout 2021, Summit Events will take place at universities across the country, with the first event kicking off at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) on March 18. Ideation Sessions in the afternoon offer attendees the chance to develop their ideas for submission into the National Kickstarter Challenge. The events are open to all young women aged 18 to 24 and are not restricted to students of the university. The panel discussion and guest speaker address will be available via live stream on the @AcceleratorforW Facebook page and On Demand here on our website. There will be a film crew at the national summit filming the Content Series (more on that below) and attendees will also receive a swag bag full of merchandise.
